Is Bajra Roti Better Than Wheat? My CGM Has an Opinion.

Bajra has a reputation as the 'desi superfood roti.' I tested it against atta on my CGM. Here's what actually changed.

After testing atta and ragi rotis on my CGM, the most-asked follow-up was about bajra. North Indian winters are built around it, and most people assume it's automatically better for blood sugar than wheat.

So I ran the same experiment.

Same plate, same dal, same portion as the atta test — only the flour changed. Bajra has more fiber, more minerals, and a denser texture than atta, so the theory holds that it should buffer the glucose response. The CGM mostly agreed, but with a wrinkle most "bajra is better" advice skips over.
