Cashews vs. Dates: Which Snack Is Better for Your Blood Sugar?
Both are marketed as healthy snacks. I tested them back to back with a CGM. Only one of them belongs in your afternoon snack rotation.
Dates and cashews both get the "natural and healthy" label. One is mostly sugar, the other is mostly fat and protein — and that difference matters enormously when you look at the glucose response.
I tested both as standalone afternoon snacks with my CGM running. The curves were completely different, and the winner was clear. If you're reaching for a snack between meals, this experiment is worth watching.
